Formerly known as Stop Hunger Now, this non-profit organization founded in 1988 works with communities in over 40 countries to provide meals. They offer programs focused on nutrition, education and economic empowerment to help each community thrive.

In 2024 alone, they packaged 54 million meals with over 9 million meals impacted. I had the opportunity to travel with their team to Nicaragua as their photojournalist to document first and the impact on the ground.
We spent five days from sunrise to sunset traveling to different communities, participating in educational workshops, serving meals, and connecting with locals.
It was important to highlight their day to day life and candid moments of connection, not to make it feel like a news story. My goal was to be as invisible as possible.
The difference between photography and photojournalism is your intention when looking through the lens, and the image's ability to capture a small story without curation. However, the incredible impact Rise Against Hunger has made in their almost 40 years of global service can not be fully captured.
